Trials and tribulations of me and my never quite running right Talon.

Alright so I finally got a little more work done on the talon. I used the charts on here to get my vacuum lines cleaned up in the engine bay. Well truthfully I left them all in there for the time being. I dis-connected all of them though. I was looking at the setup I was supposed to have based on the info I found on here and what I was reading in my haynes manual, but my car was way different. I just ended up running the vacuum lines like it said they should be in the end and left everything else just dangling there for now.
If I drive around for a couple days without any problems, then I will go ahead and pull all that extra crap out, and if I find out I didn't get it quite right, then I can hook it back up how it was in no time. I also got the exhaust gas recirculation all blocked off. I wasn't able to save the gasket that was in there before, so its metal on metal with the block off plate, but I torqued it down and have my fingers crossed that there are no leaks!
One thing down - one million left to go.
As long as I keep hitting up one little thing per day though... I should be on the way to glory soon enough.

I'm also thinking of ripping out the EGR soon to clean up the bay. God, come winter, I'm going to need to find a place to pass me on emissions.

Made it to work today... sputtered a little in the low idling rpms, but hopefully it will re-learn itself back to glory.
Also, I love being able to register in Florida (no emmisions testing) while living in Cali (nazi's) ![]() |
