Blog Title: 1997 GST DD looking for 300whp

First of all thanks for checkin out my dsm journal and i hope you enjoy.

*Sorry in advance if you dont like the huge pics. I uploaded to photobucket then found out they were huge and didnt feel like redoing it.

Early 2010 i sold my 98 eclipse gs as can be seen here.

I was in search for a better performance oriented platform. I was looking at s2ks and wrxs for my new dd. In my spare time i frequented this forum to read random tech articles and was bit by the bug again. I wanted another dsm but take this one in a different directon than my previous. In November 2010 i found a 1997 eclipse gst. Took a 3 hour drive picked her up and brought her home.

With my previous car i had done some research on turboing the 420a so i had some knowledge on what it took to make my car go faster. I started using the aquired knowledge i had gained from this forum to plan out my build. I want a reliable dd, 300whp, and very clean looking dsm. I know that i might get some bad feedback on the aesthetic stuff i bought for the car since the money could had been put towards performance parts but i like my cars to look good. So now its time to gather parts.

Well today i went to a locals house to purchase a moded wastegate actuator to maybe fix my boost creep situation. It opened up my wastegate flapper a considerable amount more but still no fix. So after we got that all squared away we took a ride in his 11 sec 1g on a 16g. All i have to say is wow. The acceleration and pull of the car was amazing. I might want to reconsider what i want to do with the car as car as what gas, what kinda boost, and what kinda numbers i want to put up. Im considering meth injection to run the higher boost levels that my creep is puttin me at. So that being said having the car tuned will probably not happen anytime soon. I think im going to start hoarding more parts again and see where it takes me.

Ahh... nothing like the first time you feel an awd get squirrely in the tail. My first experiance was a 2.3 with a bastard 14b on it, gotta love that press you feel as you sink into the seat deeper and deeper.

maybe larger diameter, pipeing? could help maintain a steady pressure. But a tuner will know what to do, if your already set out to do so. best let the pro handle it xD

Never been in a dsm with good boost (owned a tsi with boost leak for twenty min)... but I get chills just thinking about it ... I'm ###### gonna do a 4g63 swap if I can find a steal ... haven't read the best things about turbo 420a's but that's on the board as well

So what were your previous goals? 11s (horsepower wise) are so easy a caveman could do it. Throw a walbro, some big injectors, link, and a 16g and you'll have the power. Then its just the break/replace game that is DSMs.
