So my stg 4 shep trans is off the car, and back in Ohio. 4th gear started making a funny noise while accelerating (normally) on the freeway out of a toll station. So I limp back home, avoided 4th gear, and all of a sudden I hear a *CHINK* and the car lurches a bit, I instantly pull over and call AAA.

So for the 2nd time, my $3400 trans is back in Ohio for something that I don't feel...

Went back to the 1/4 last friday (8-8-08) on 5 gals of VP c16 and ~5 gals of 93 octane. Got the boost to 28 psi, but first gear is now useless, and a 1.8 60 foot was all I could muster, bringing the car to an 11.69 at 125mph. Still on the OEM non-lsd rear end, and an open 4 spider center diff. Time for an investment in some M/T QTP slicks and cheap drag wheels.

Went to Texas Motorplex in Ennis Texas on Friday. After getting used to launching the car (and some crap >2.0" 60 foots from 2nd gear mis-shifts), car finally dropped into the high 11's at ~120mph. Continued running the car on pump gas and refining the tune to vanish the 1* of knock I was getting in 4th gear, and working on my NLTS technique (which is REALLY nice not having to re spool up...
