my brother had to go and use a non-deep well socket on one of my strut towers causing it to round, so yea, kinda stuck atm, but about to go and get an extraction kit.

Car really hasn't been driven much thanks to the texas heat and my car's low speed lack of A/C. It doesn't idle up anymore at stops, so the compressor kills the engine.

Thinking about removing the A/C entirely, save the weight, and just drive her during the cooler months, or when I can afford to sweat.

Got a new LSD for the rear though, bushings, and axles too. Waiting on my steel rear diff cover to get completed though so I can fully upgrade the rear while it's out in one fell swoop.

Had my ACT TOB grenade on me a month back (main reason for me not driving the car atm) and STILL waiting to hear back from ACT as to whether or not they will cover the cost of the new OEM unit. I even did the work myself so there is no labor coverage involved. I don't know why ACT can't make decent throw out bearings though.

A twin disk is on the list of things to do. The street disc is all but glass now from the track usage and constant daily driving strain.

Summary, it's getting near time to retire the GSX from daily driver status.

Car is still having idle issues with the Q45 TB due to a massive leak at the shaft linkage, which causes cold start idle issues. At 19psi though, I am flowing 50lbs/min of airflow, and had my first kill in a long time after tuning my car. Beat a 5.0 modded stang by bus lengths. So satisfying to see your work do what you meant it to do.

So once again, the trans is back to Shep

So my stg 4 shep trans is off the car, and back in Ohio. 4th gear started making a funny noise while accelerating (normally) on the freeway out of a toll station. So I limp back home, avoided 4th gear, and all of a sudden I hear a *CHINK* and the car lurches a bit, I instantly pull over and call AAA.

So for the 2nd time, my $3400 trans is back in Ohio for something that I don't feel necessary considering my power levels, and WHY FOURTH GEAR? Certainly shouldn't be the gear to act up on an AWD car. How is it, shep can produce 1200+ hp on this build, and I can't make 500?

I hope it's not my fault, because I've babied this trans. Always full with Pennzoil synchromax, as recommended by shep, and changed every time I change my oil and was full when I pulled the trans off. But we'll see. Butthole is puckering waiting for the call as to what happened...

8/8/08 Ennis 1/4 Mile

Went back to the 1/4 last friday (8-8-08) on 5 gals of VP c16 and ~5 gals of 93 octane. Got the boost to 28 psi, but first gear is now useless, and a 1.8 60 foot was all I could muster, bringing the car to an 11.69 at 125mph. Got the boost to 28 psi, but first gear is now useless, and a 1.8 60 foot was all I could muster, bringing the car to an 11.69 at 125mph. Still on the OEM non-lsd rear end, and an open 4 spider center diff. Time for an investment in some M/T QTP slicks and cheap drag wheels.

Wound up shredding another alternator belt. Bought a new gates alt belt + cheap PS belt (it was damaged) and found my PS pulley damaged. Took that off, and fixed the damage. Alt belt only shreds during high rev applications, so there is something not aligned, or something is nudging it off.

We'll see how she does when this next drivetrain upgrade is finished.

Went to Texas Motorplex in Ennis Texas on Friday. After getting used to launching the car (and some crap >2.0" 60 foots from 2nd gear mis-shifts), car finally dropped into the high 11's at ~120mph. Continued running the car on pump gas and refining the tune to vanish the 1* of knock I was getting in 4th gear, and working on my NLTS technique (which is REALLY nice not having to re spool up a GT35R after shifting).

Finally achieved a 11.64 @ 114 as my alternator belt shredded off in 3rd gear. I basically coasted through the 1/4 mi line and after getting through the slip handout post (thinking it was a 12 second run from the engine trouble). Immediately, I stopped the car as my battery light, check engine, and brake light came on, as well as the coolant temp gauge reaching up high. Let it cool down as I inspected under the hood to find some "strands" of a belt laying about. Go figure.

This is the 2nd alt belt my car has eaten, and the autozone belt is already at full tension on my car. I cannot for the life of me get these things to stop squealing.
