kinda frustrated today....

went to get new front tires and a wheel bearing and it was a nightmare...

my local autozone can't even get me a front wheel bearing... they don't stock them anymore. luckily advance auto parts can order them.

lol, order them. noone stocks parts for these cars anymore.

so i go to replace my Goodyear Eagle GT-HR tires that i bought the car with (because it's AWD mixing and matching tires isn't a hot idea) and Goodyear no longer makes the tires for my car. great. now i have to replace 2 perfectly good tires which i'd rather not or have 2 Bridgestone Protenzas on the front and 2 Goodyear Eagle GT-HR's on the back.

i guess in the scheme of things it's not a huge deal, but it made my day quite frustrating. i'll deal because i love the car to death, but it made my day a mess.

thank you for sharing all of your horror stories... but you've managed to tell me about all the broken things in your cars.

it's not time for a new car because things keep breaking (hell, she runs pretty good for me!) but instead because routine parts are becoming harder and harder to find, and being my daily driver, it's becoming more and more unacceptable.

i feel your guys' pain, and i wish i could throw a 30r and some Mickey T's on it, but it's fine the way it is...

I really hear you on this one. I went thru THREE wrong cv joints for my car! and im on the fourth one here and im having my doubts about it since i still have to put my motor back together to finally figure out if the cv joint (driver side) is even a good one. I even get shit from discount auto since i buy the "wrong" ngk spark plugs and yet i argue with them time and time again that they dont have the option in their computers about the stock ngk spark plugs. Stupid auto parts stores. Seems like we know more about our cars then they think they do.

I had a valve protruding from piston 3 on the spyder before I abandoned it to fly back to school. So I put that project off for probably the next 9 months while I'm in school. Luckily the 1g GSX I've got out here only needs a new windhield, battery, shocks and springs.... **correction** HOPEFULLY that's all it needs.

That sucks but it aint bad compared to my horror story and my cryin wallet. I saw my first dsm at 8 years old a 94 vented and said wow that was fast and sounded cool. So as time goes by i get my first car a 95 gst. I had to show off to my friends but never ran it hard and finally i did and bam! Timing belt slipped head was eaten 10 valves bent wow holy crap right? So i bought a new head 1500$ yeah not fun it started to run great after well then it needed tires so another 500$ plus the ahole i got it from cut the eibach's that were on it so i had to get new springs and new shocks about another 800$. But wait the fun doesnt stop there then the tensioners took a crap 60$ and it jumped time luckily i was babyin it so no damage just new tensioners then the waterpump went out 50$. Then it wouldnt pass smog needed a new egr and pcv O2 sensors another 200$.Then the clutch died along with the slave and two axles and seals for the axles and new fulcrum pivots so I went with the slowboy clutch setup hasnt failed yet but again about another1200$. Now the overflow has cracked and I ordered a new one from the local mitsu dealer charged me 75$ for it said pick it up in a week. Two days later a phone call it was the dealer to say my bad they dont make those anymore sorry good luck id recommend a junkyard or your just outta luck, also they advised get a mustang I got a GT im sellin. And I was so pissed I told him to put his F%#$@n GT in his @$$ I smoke those all day yours will be next if I see you. But thats besides the point dont get rid of the dsm sure theyre unreliable hard to find parts for and just plain gettin old but they still make for a ridiculously good time when theyre runnin right. So dont sweat that small stuff.

Horror story capped. I bought a motor from a shop; had them install it; The shop I had it at before hand didn't even touch my car for 6 - 7 months so I finally quit that shit and took it to shop B. Shop A lost about 3 grand worth of parts, including gas tank, ####ing up my drive shaft, tons of stuff. I had shop B put it together finally, racking up over 9 grand worth of stupid random stuff they felt like replacing b/c they didn't trust. it blew within a week without taking it over 3k RPMs. Had to pay for a rebuild because they claimed I "over rev'd" it. another 2000 dollars. Figured what the hell. I have a complete rebuilt motor right. Ran ok, but had an oil leak from the oil pan. Took it back there to get it fixed. They drained and dropped my transfer case. Put it back in, but didn't fill it full of gear oil. Transfer case locked up, and my engine has had a horrible vibration ever since. Transmission blew within a week of that. I ordered a new transmission. Used stage 2.5 Teamrip tranny. Put it in, STILL I have an engine vibration, and took it for the test drive around the block to find a gear oil trail. turns out my output shaft seal is leaking. Popped my transmission BACK out now, (eh oh well I'm getting fast at it right? I took the transmission out in under 2.5 hours.) Now I sit patiently waiting for seals to come in. Now I sit here scared of that vibration even after I fix that seal...It scares the shit out of me. It has to be something inside the engine..
