While tranny is out figured Id clean up some wiring.

Posted 10-15-2008 at 11:29 AM by Black_Bullet
I hate clutter, maybe 4 or 5 months ago I had previously relocated all the stuff on the upper fire wall down lower and I tucked the injector wirings under fuel rail etc. Now onto left side of engine bay, I dont have the patience to do a proper wire tuck and move everything into the interior. So tell me what do you guys think of this quick fuse box relocation and wire relocation sitting this low on the cross member. The wiring coming from the headlight side runs under the long route lower intercooler pipe for the FMIC,(were you see the jpipe and hose is)
and the wiring runs along the bottom of the metal that seperates the engine bay from the tire well.
My battery is relocated to hatch, but the small factory MPI fuse box is sitting under the main fuse box thats sitting on cross member. Everything has been ridiculously wrapped in electrict tape, and there are inline fuses for my battery relocation as well.
All wiring is ziptied so it cant move around.
Nothing is in way of transmission or axles.

Thanks for viewing, constructive critiscm welcomed...

PS my dog Aja in the last pic is trying to mimic my car

I say thats not a bad idea personally. I like the clean look and i like the idea on this one. Just hope you dont blew a fuse or anything, it would seem like a PITA to get to it if you did. But none the less nice going on trying something a little different!

Im in the process of doing the same thing but to the extreme... So far I have seperated the engine harness from the chassis harnes and am lengthing the engine harness in order to hide as much wiring as possible...

Oh yea, that reminds me, I did have to lengthen the passenger side headlight wires to make this work. It was only a couple wires though, no big deal.

No blown fuses yet, everything is thoroughly taped up.
The battery is in the hatch, so the fuse box is not hard to get to.
No harder than reaching down to were its at on the pic, my UICP wont really block me from getting to it.
Maybe this should of been a thread, Im starting to want to see what others have done with their fuse boxes.

^ Yea Jose, a clean engine bay makes you feel good when you pop your hood, or need to go work on your car, youll have more room.

You need to update that pic with your new bumper!!

Nice work man. I relocated everything on the upper firewall down low like you did, and also relocated the battery to the trunk. The thought of moving the other fuse box out of the way never crossed my mind until seeing your pics! Did you keep your factor batter post fuses (3 big honkers) on the battery post, or are the in the engine bay still? I would love to remove the heating cooling ducting under the dash and make a custom pannel on the passenger side, and relocate all the fuses and ECU there. One big cable to the trunk for the battery, and an engine harness going thru the firewall to the engine. Short, easy, but takes lots of time and good planning. Nice work.
