Well, got to do my first little bit of work on the car woot. The other day as I was pulling through the main gates to get on to base, I was rolling up my window and noticed it was going up really slow and the radio cut out, I was liek what the hell? So then i noticed my headlights were going out and my dash lights were pretty much no existent. Oh gawd what now, the car managed to run just long enough for me to get into a parking spot so that I could pop my hood and see if anything had come disconnected, I got out of my car and shut the door and realized oh shit my doors are locked. Long story short got the door unlocked about 3 hours later and found out I was parked in the commanding officer of the base's parking spot. Car started right up and I thoguht everything was okay so I parked it and ran back into the school house only to come out and find that it didn't want to start. Got a jump car ran for a few minutes died, realized yup def. the alt. Anyway, after getting a ride home from a friend because my wife was to scared to come to the base and get me. Called the local junkyard and yanked an alt from a NT for 45 bucks, paid 35 bucks to get towed to the hobby shop on base and then paid 6 dollars to use a body lift, and whatever tools I needed. It was kind of weird being able to walk completely underneath the car. Realized both cv boots are split open, have a weird leak on the passenger side of car coating the transmission in some liquid, I think its coolant or tranny fluid and I do know there is a gasket on the thermostat housing I need to replace and I think that will fix the fluid thing. Anyway the install was uneventful lost a nut, but fixed the problem. Next thing I want to do is fix the gasket :-).

Lol the ones on military bases, they have either body lifts or drive on lifts. Heck they even have empty stalls where you could just use a hydraulic jack to lift the car.
