uh i did a headgasket in under 4 hours, jack up the drivers side take the tire off, take the belts off first unplug the fuel injectors and all that crap and alll those wires just move to the passenger side. pull the whole head off with the intake on and just unscrew teh 4 bolts on the turbo manifold and leave the turbo where it is just dangling on the exhaust. of course the belts and the timing well good luck. theres some guides online but get zipties. as you can see this is prob hour number 2

Finally, got it on the jackstand yesterday. had to adjust the chains so it could be evenly moved onto the stand. Well took a day break from working on her. Today though me and a buddy got right back into it. We took off ALOT. Intake Manifold, Coolant Lines, Injectors, Timing Cover, Pulleys, And the Timing Belt. Valve Cover. Stopped at the Camshafts. Soaked them in oil and put the valve cover back on so i can resume taking them off tomorrow =)Posted 10-22-2009 at 04:52 PM by 98mitsubishigst

Separated the Head from block. Turned the block over, and hit the pistons out.. CHARCOAL. they are disgusting.. Look how black they are. (180k miles might i remind you) Well .. we couldnt get the crank out. Took the Block down to nearby shop and had buddys of mine get her off.. Everything is off and ready to go to the machine shop =) should be taking her there tomorrow .. Whatcha guys think so far? Bought Wire brushes and Sand Paper, ready to go and get all the rust out of engine bay and get her ready for paintPosted 10-27-2009 at 04:22 PM by 98mitsubishigst

Well, Since i had time on my hands. Past 2-3 weeks i been cleaning up the Bay.. I had a rust hole on my strut tower and my pap covered it up to stop from moving. Well its been a year since that and now i could tap the hole thru. SO . I DID haha. Now i had a HUGE hole and something for me to work on. I dremeled out a square and then grinded down to solid metal and no rust. Afterwards i needed a welder.. A friend of mine gave me his that he doesnt use anymore (a new 400 dollar one .. CRAZY right?) so i brought it home and realized it doesnt hook up to a house plug needed a 50amprage outlet. Lucky for me the welder was free, Had some leftover cash, bought outlet wire and breaker and AGAIN lucky for me Friends dad was a electrician =) He had a beer and put the outlet in.. The next day i practiced welding. And then cut a piece of metal out and formed it then welded her on. (Took welding in high school for 9 months thats all experience i had.) Then I bondo hardened her . Sanded her down. Bondoed again. Sanded again. This is third time, Bondoing lightly and sanding again later. HERES THE PICTURES =DPosted 11-16-2009 at 09:01 AM by 98mitsubishigst
