Ok so I have a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd. It was my first DSM, you can say this car broke my DSM cherry , I bought it back from the kid I sold it to a few years ago I picked it up a few weeks ago. When I sold it to him I sold it as a shell no motor, no trans, no transfer case, no drive shaft, no rear end, and no axles because he had a 90 that he had wrecked and twisted the body apparently. 95 GST build UPDATE (spun bearing)

So when I rebuilt my motor I had to put a crank in it. I bought the crank from the machine shop and it came with acl tri metal bearings, I got 1200 miles on it and it started knocking turned around went home droped the pan and number three was loose pulled the motor. Took her all apart and dropped the crank off at the machine shop along with all four rods to be checked. Time to build thought came...

2g head rebuild update

Got the head all torn apart and off and cleaned up ready for the machinist, getting a 3 angle, bronze valve guides put in and it surfaced, buying a felpro gasket set and arp head studs then buying a good timing belt just dont know which one I want to run yet


Another update already, lol just got back in, I pulled the turbo all the way off, drained the oil, cleaned the head...

Time for head rebuild

Time to pull the head after only 8 miles on the rebuild, I made a few mistakes when I rebuilt. I used eBay parts and didn't get the head surfaced. The valve guide seals started leaking. I didn't have a job at the time so I couldn't afford it but now I do so time to do it right. It's getting a oem head gasket, arp head studs, 3 angle valve job, viton stem steals, my bronze valve guides, and thead...

Well people I have brought back to life another dsm I put in my knock sensor hooked up the battery and pulled the ecu fuse, and turned it over to get her primed till the oil light turned off. Plugged every thing back in, put the ecu fuse back in and she fired right up. Ill get a video soon and more pics.


BEST SOUND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!! It was like waiting for your new born child...

Update finaly its been a long time(pics check it out)

Well I got ALOT done sense I last posted. I got the cylinder head put all together with my stainless swirl polished valves and 3g revised lifters. Got the cylinder head put on and torqued down. Got the clutch put on got the trans put on the back of the motor. Found a few problems on the trans...... The bracket that bolts to the trans for the side mount where loose and from shifting had worn the bolt...

alright so i havent posted in awhile i got some more pics i have been helping a friend on here (dsm4lyfe12) with his 93 talon so i am posting on here about mine now lol
right now

the rebuild kit
i had to get new rods and crank and had to have one rod machined round again then had all the pistons put on the rods, i got the crank in the rods in the oil pump on the balance...

ok guys i have a lot of pics up of my stuff and how far i am so far

i received my rebuild kit so far

i had to get a new crank as to mine was way to far gone

i have over sized bearings

i have the crank in and torqued to spec and lubed with melling engine assembly lube (see pics)

ok so i am starting my 2g build

i got the car for 500 with a broken connecting rod bolt broke and the piston started to hit the cylinder head but they shut it off right after words...

so where i am at now

i got the motor completely torn apart down to bear block i have the balance shaft bearings turned(not buying an eliminator kit just make my own)
