Heater
Cut off the tube from the water pipe that goes toward the firewall and welded the hole shut.
A/c compressor bracket that bolts to the back of the block
A/c fuse box
Hacked the driver side motor mount bracket and took off the piece it bolts to on the front of the block.
Took out some wiring like for the washer pumps, a/c fuse box, etc.
Glove box

The car is almost ready for its first few passes. I am waiting on some parts that are being tig welded for me. They are supposed to be done on Wednesday. Once I get them it will be ready to run. Then I have to get some rims/tires to put on it. Right now I am going to try to find somebody I can borrow stock wheels from. I also have to find somebody I trust to drive the car for me. I broke my knee a few months ago and there is still quite a bit of pain in it. With it how it is I doubt I can drive it like I need to at the track. I wish it was my right knee then I would just nlts every shift.

All I have left now is to put the exhaust manifold and throttle cable on the car.

Here are a few pictures from when I had the dash out in order to take out the heater core and a/c boxes. After I took these pictures I also took off the brackets that held the boxes in place by drilling out the rivets. i then welded the holes shut.

While I had the dash out I found out the car had been in a wreck before i owned it. There were some small pieces of glass under the carpet and I saw this on the passenger side.
I got the cylinder walls cleaned up with a scotch brite pad and wd-40. I am waiting on the new head gasket to get here so I can put the head on.

Well, I picked the car up from NY and towed it to where I am in NC. When i picked it up I remembered that the head was off of it. I deecided to look and see if there was any rust on the cylinder walls and of course after a winter in Syracuse with no head on it it has rust on the walls. It looks like I should be able to clean it up. If not, then the goal will turn into 10's on a built bottom end with the 50 trim. I would rather do that than do a stock rebuild now and build it later obviously because of the cost difference.

I got back to NC at 8:00 this morning and I started taking some more weight off the car. I got some wiring out that I don't need any more due to me eliminating things(speakers, washer pumps etc.). I also took off the rear bumper support and am trying to decide whether I need to cut holes in the bumper cover or make something to support it so nothing happens when it catches the air. If anybody wants they can add pics of what they did to the rear bumper cover after removing the bumper.

These are just a couple of pictures from today when I was taking some weight out of the car.

This mess was under the carpet when I pulled it up. Now I know what those wires going to my fuse box were.

After taking the sound deading off the floor. Luckily on my car it all came off in big chunks by hand.

The rust that I need to try and get off the cylinders. It all appears to be surface rust. Any tips would be great.

As the title says my goal for this car is to run 10's with the 50 trim while keeping the stock bottom end. I am going to try and do it on just boost. But I have a bottle waiting to go on the car and will put it on if need be to reach my goal. Once I reach that goal or the bottom end goes(whichever comes first) I am going to build the block and will add pictures from that to this thread also. I will be updating this thread as I do things to the car. Expect this thread to last a few months at least.

My ultimate goal for the car after I build the bottom end is to run low 10's on boost with a different turbo. Then I will add the bottle with a 75 shot and try to break 9's.
I would like to thank SlowBoy Racing for being a great business to deal with. Most of the parts on the car came from SBR. A lot of the parts that are in the future for the car will also come from SBR. I reccomend anybody to SBR that wants parts at a good price with the BEST customer service I have had and very fast shipping. I normally recieve my parts from them two days after I order them.

Things that are off the car:
Air conditioning
Power steering
Washer fluid bottles
