Where to Send Center Diff. For welding


Does anybody know where i could send this thing out to get welded together? seems like everything i find is a how to. and always for manual trans...

I know John @ TRE does them. It was only $50 back when he did mine. I'm sure Tim Zimmer (TMZ) does too. You're probably safe with any of the well know DSM tranny rebuilders.

Go local, baby. Just find a reputable shop in the area to get it done. Do the research. You are burning $200 just in shipping to outsource it.

There aren't a lot of random shops that can properly weld a center diff, It has to be set up in a jig to center the lower gear in the housing or else it will bind up in the transmission.

Good point. I keep on forgetting that not everyone lives down the street from a reputable shop that knows dsms. I take this for granted I guess.

Listen what they say on the Jig welding...I just ruined one by not jig welding..I got the inner and outer splines lined up on the open end of the diff but when installed in tranny , it wobbled. The outer bearing and race wont center it up..
