The story goes as such..... I purchased a '91 AWD Auto car that was already disassembled. I'm trying to put a motor in it and need help with the driveplate/adapter plates. Which way do the "ears" of the driveplate face? Towards the converter or towards the engine? Also, the manual says that the 2.0 motors only have one adapter plate and I have two in the pile of parts that I have. The manual also shows a 3 puck driveplate and I have a 4 puck which bolts up to the 4 bolt converter, so I'm cool excpet that I've discovered the manuals aren't worth a poop. Any help or experiences would be great. Thanks, Salad

i had the same problem and heres how it goes. make sure that the bearing is seated fully in the crank before you proceed, if it sticks out even a tiny bit, when you torque down the d/p bolts they will dig into the bearing and stick everything together and make it impossible to loosen the bearings. unless you dremel off the bolt heads and drill and tap holes. (what a huge problem) ok, after the bearing is in, put on the inside adapter plate, then the d/p with the ears facing the motor, then adapter #2, bolt it all up.
