Simple "Sagging" Shift Boot Solution

I have seen some people around talking about how they have new shift knobs, but that they are on, the shift boot doesnt reach the bottom of the shift knob anymore, as it did with the stock shift knob. I recently put on a new Ractive shift knob and had the same problem so I did a quick little fix:

1. First you will need to remove the front part of the console (between armrest & lower dash)
2. There are 4 screws that need to be removed:
~ 1 is under the ashtray (just pull ashtray up and you will see it)
~ Then there are 3 under the front trim panel (the skinny piece under the CD player/radio) which you just pull up and remove the 3 screws.
3. Take off the shift knob if it is not already.
4. Carefully lift up the console being sure to not rip any wires, for this you will not need to unattach any wires, and you can prop the console up against or e-brake or anything else to keep it out off the way. See first picture
5. Put your shift knob on the shift rod and mark about a 1/4 inch under the shift knob on the shift rod. This room leaves space for the rubber spacer on the shift boot.
6. Warp electrical tape around shift rod under your mark until there is about 1/8 inch around the rod. See second picture
7. Put console back together and put shift knob back on.
No more sagging shift boot!

Here are just a few pictures so you get the idea.
