I agree with the post on car care. I detailed for a bit at an infiniti dealer and i can say that knowing the proper procedure and using the right kinds (they dont have to be the most expensive brands in the world) of products for certain tasks makes all the difference in the world. With some time and effort regular people can make regular cars look almost car show ready. So just basically a detailing FAQ in general for the less experienced would be nice, as well as throwing in dsm specific tricks (I'm talking about you 2g defrost vents...)

You can order most of that stuff from the dealers still. You can even get the DSM plate reproduced call the dealership with your vin number.

I want to make and reproduce my own raised lettering.
Small details the factories never do hold up.
The letters wear off or are never painted at all if they are raised at all.
If I can get the DSM fonts I can detail all my switches and gauges with unique yet tasteful finish.
I could also make inlays and overlays for my door panels knobs and such out of many materials.
For instance.I would like to see how mahogany or brushed aluminum would look instead of the cheap plastic.

As a mid westerner i know all to well how hard it is to keep a dsm comfortable and now sitting in phoenix the heat is killing me. I was introduced to a heat reflective underlayment for roofing called low-e. this stuff is double foil faced and offers an R-9 and weighs nothing! the 500sq ft roll weighs like 5 lbs. so im lining my roof, and door panels. pics to come. you can pic it up at abc supply. insulate your house and use the extra in your car!
