Well I tried to have you come to the conclusion on your own...

B&M, as most people will tell you, re-designed the pivot on the 2G shifter early in it's production. The new design came with a blue pivot, both to identify the version and to help B&M ID which was an eBay knock-off and which was not.

^^ i don't know how i was supposed to come to that conclusion on my own, but i DID say it was possible that B&M made both colors.

thanks for the info.

stock knob on mine. B&M short shift. actually found the short shift rummaging through dsms at the junkyard. someone had cut the top of it off (assuming they wanted the shift knob?) but i took the boot off and there it was. just welded bolt threads to the top of it.

and that's blue... hmmm so the guy could have really thought he bought a B&M shifter. unless it really came in two different colors? idk
the look like theyw ere designed the same, so i doubt one is better then the other.
looks like the purple one is identical to the Megan racing one.!!

Lets see here, is there a true difference between the B&M and knock off? Not a single damn thing! Well except price! Knockoff FTMFW

Pic to follow, I'm still rocking the 2011 Ford Focus (same as the Mustang V6 except Mustang is silver, focus is black) shift knob on a modified short throw shifter. I don't know what brand my shifter is, but the rod unbolted from the shifter, which left me able to make a shorter rod very easily, now my shifter is very low.

All shift knobs I have ever used, (except ford knobs) thread on tight. Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Chevy, they all thread on tight as hell. The Ford uses a larger thread and bolt. So I had to make my own rod since my shifter's top rod is removable.

In my 1g I'm running an evo 8 shift knob on a fidanza short throw. What I really wanna get is what is called a shifty. A local guy at a forced4s car meet at quaker steak and lube sells them. They are awesome. Really good for an aluminum knob in the summer or to protect leather from the suns rays.
