I like the OEM 2g leather wrapped best. I used to have a really crazy looking knob from simoni racing or somehting like that. It was uncomfortable as hell so I went back to OE.

I tried running different ones. Even had an expensive Greddy weighted shift knob.
Always end up going back to the 2g OEM Leather.
I will trade my more expensive Greddy for an almost new looking 2g knob.
I also dont like those shift knobs that use those crappy adapter threads. EVO 8 know is nice too.

You can get the stock OEM 2G leather one for $18 at JNZ.

TSI91, what year did you get that shift knob out of? Cause 2g's had a couple different ones, Atleast Two. I know 95 Shift knob and boots are different from 96+.... that knob doesn't look like a 96+. I have one and hate it. Thats why I got the Mustang Shift Knob. But I really like yours.

You can wrap them yourself. The actual console portion I bought off of a guy who makes quite a few 1g parts on ebay. The lid I did myself, but he also sells those. The lid is just a shell I slip over the actual lid. The console is a whole console. The shift boot is 100% real carbon fiber as well....obviously just the fabric.

well, can't find any pics of the one in my 1g. but it's a Momo, small, black, and leather. pretty nice.
but the cool one is in my wife's t/a. got it for her bday, since that is what she requested.
made by cv products. all aluminum, and hollow. had to tap and drill the bottom, to get it to the correct thread size.

Look it up online. There are tons of very good reviews and how to video's. Its actually very easy for small flat parts.

Same as dsmtalon2008
I use the greddy knob. Although I bought mine a 8 years ago or so and spent alot more money on it. I think $140. And the packaging labeled mine as greddy superheavy weight shift knob. It threads right on and is shockingly heavy. It weighs 2.5 pounds. It's black chrome with replaceable greddy logo insert on top. My 2G is setup with b&m short throw shifter, black leather shift boot, symborski bushings and machv underhood cartridge bearings.

Why would you need a shift knob that weighs 2.5 pounds? That's insane. The weighted 2g knob is already heavy as hell....I couldn't imagine throwing a 2.5 pound knob around.

Well
I didn't know it weighed that much when I bought it. I bought it because to my way of thinking it's about the perfect shape and size for a shift knob and it threaded on instead of using goofy wimpy Allen head screws. Anyways I love it. It is confidence inspiring. it's a quality part. Besides I always get a kick out of peoples reaction when they feel how heavy it is. It's gotta be filled with lead or something because it wouldn't be as heavy as it is even if it was cast iron
