Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the 1995-1996 and 1997-1999 headlights? I am looking on eBay for some black headlights, and have found a pair that I really like, but according to the person selling them they will only fit the 1997-1999 cars. I have looked at the pictures, and don't see any difference. Does anyone know if these will work on a 1996 RS or not?

Here is the link:

Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Terminal206

The newer 2g headlights, 97-99, are a different shape and cannot directly replace the 95-96 because the bumper is different. They also have a black painted housing and kind of bulge out further than the 95-96 ones.

97-99 headlights like the ones you linked will work without swapping your bumper, but they angle sharply towards the middle, so you'll have an ugly gap between the headlights and the "nose" of your bumper. There's pics somewhere.

The inside "point" is different between the 2GA and 2GB........

As stated the reflector area at the outer part is NOT "bulged on the 2GA, and it's "bulged" on the 2GB.

So, if I understand this correctly, I can buy a 1997-1999 front bumper and then I can use the 1997-1999 headlights? Will the bumper fit on a 96 without modifications? I am buying a body kit right now, and it's not too late for me to change my order if this will work.

With an aftermarket body kit it is almost a given that it will need to modified to fit correctly. If its the OEM bumpers then it will fit just fine.

What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean that it won't fit quite right, or do you mean that it won't be right at all?
