i have had a system in my car now for about 3 months with no problems it consists of, alpine deck, (2) 12 inch infinity subs, (2) 500 watt bazooka amps. Two days ago while driving i just lost all the sound from the subs, so i figure its a fuse. I checked all the fuses and wiring to the amps and from the amps. All fuses good, all wires secure. My second thought was that the wires that go to the subs on the inside of the box might have worked their way loose, but the odds of both of them comming of each subs are one in a million since each sub has its own amp. So, i gave up for the night... slept... woke up and on my way to work the subs were fine for about 2 days, then they went off again.. so i thought maybee the amps were overheating. I checked both amps and neither were overly warm. So i am stumped, and its happened a few times where they will go off for like 5 minutes, sometimes a few days. Somehow they always come back on. I am not loosing power to the amps, cause the lights never go off on the amps. The only thing i can think of is that the RCA cables on the back of the deck are loose, anyone else have any ideas? suggestions?

Hm could be the RCA's on the back of the deck, but that seems unlikely. Maybe your ground is loose? Check the ground again to be sure.

Do you have a battery fuse or a circuit breaker?

When the problem occurs, do your amps still have the "power on" LED illuminated?

Did you check your battery terminal for tightness?

Just a couple of things to check that I can think of...

do you think maybe your amps are blown? check all your connections and MAKE SURE they are tight and not corroded or something. maybe you have the gain set too high on your amps. i'm guessing that you have 8 or 4 gauge power wire and ground for your amp. and thick enough speaker wire going to your subs?
also, do you have a distribution block for the power going to your amps or did you just splice the wire? if you spliced it make sure that it's making good connection.
check all that and let us know what happens! good luck! :thumb:

LED on the amps stay on, battery fuse still good, distribution block alright.. why would having the gain set up to high make the subs not hit.. ?

it just depends on your setup. if you try to make your amp power something it cant then it just wont do anything. try turning your gain down a bit and see what happens. where is it set at right now? let me know
