I feel kinda stupid asking this, but on my Eclipse deck on the subwoofer controls, one of the controls looks like this:

SUB-W |_| |_| |_|

Does anyone know what this means or does, when I change it I don't hear a whole lot of a difference. Thanks

I should clarify this. I know it changes the phase of the sub speakers (in and out of phase) but I'm not entirely sure what the difference is, does anyone know? Thanks

Speakers have a polarity (+) and (-), if one speaker is wired oposite of the other, they will push and pull so to say... and sound like monkey %@$@. This will correct such a thing if it where to happen. It can also be used to control how loudly the sub can be heard outside of the vehivle though.... some wierd phase-shift technology. My freind used to use it b/c he didn't want his system to heard for fear of theft.
