ok, i dont want the little glue on piece, i want the whole pillar piece, and i cant decide between 2 or 3 gauges and what i was wondering was if i was to get three, would i even be able to see the very top gauge clearly or would it be too high??? if anyone has pictures that would be GREAT..also, where do i find these pods??? i have been searching on google.com and cant find any:(

Thanks:dsm:

hey, i just wanted to bump this question, because i am also wondering between dual and triple gauge pods, all i have ordered right now is a boost gauge, and would like to get a wideband a/f in the future. So, I dont know if i should just invest in a triple, because I might also get a oil pressure, but basically I dont need anything right now except a boost gague.

i have a triple and love it sorry for the crappy pic but i have boost/ air fuel/ and oil to my turbo

ya i guess 2 pod sounds more reasonable, i was just gonna fill the other two on a 3 pod with some cheap gauges from this place called advancedjdmparts.com . I dont if u guys have seen this place, didnt find anything in the fourms about it, but they have some cheap ass gauges, better than ebay in terms of price. I think they are just lights....

I opted for the dual gauge vent bezel. A third hole means another gauge to buy. As much money as I'm spending right now on other things for the car every dollar I can say. Some builds need more than two gauges. For now that will do the job for me. Also I decided to get the vent bezel instead of the a-pillar pods because they are more low profile.

The dual pod does the job for me right now along with a triple gauge vent bezel..I'll see about getting some pics for you. I will most likely be getting the dual "gauge cluster" bezel as well and then possibly the triple a-piller pod. As of right now I have autometer nexus...oil pressure, boost, water temp, and egt. I will soon be getting the aem wideband uego gauge.

I have the dual gauge pods that go around the factory gauge cluster it looks almost stock....But I liked my old triple pod cause it is easier to see than the one I have now.

As for your question about being able to see the top gauge ok on the triple pod pillar. YES you can see the TOP one very clearly IMO. However the bottom pod sits ON the DASH.
So if anything the BOTTOM gauge is a lil harder to see IMO.

I was considering getting the tripple as well. Looking around alot. I have a boost guage in my Blitz boost controller... so i was thinking about other gauges to get. But it seems Air/Fuel & Boost gauges are insanely popular. Any other gauges? Water temp sounds good... buts doesnt the stock temp gauge tell you that? & what about the other temp gauges? Oil or Tranny even needed?? Atleast on a DD/street car? :dsm::talon::laser:

I've got the low-tek tripple and love it. Boost up top, wideband in the middle, EGT on the bottom. I can see all the gauges perfectly durring the day and the night. Make sure you get gauges that have dimmers in them if you plan on doing a bunch of night driving, as the upper gauge gets a little bright at night at full lumination. other then that, I love it.

I also have the dual gauge insert for the vent in the center console. I stuck my Oil pressure and water temp gauges there, and love the setup. Tuning gagues on the pillar, engine status gauges in the console. :thumb:

hmm now i am considering triple over dual. i got an autometer cobalt boost gauge, nothing else, i guess i could get some of those glowshift ones, but i think they have raised their price, its still ends up being like 45 or so for oil or exhaust temp. And you cant even see them in the day time without lighting them, LOL. I dont understand how it could cost that much for just to have visible numbers, and the the new glowshift ones are more expensive.

But they reason i care is cause i was gonna go with lotek, which is alot more than ebay ones, because my interior a-piller panel thing is tan.....so lotek is pretty much my only option, and i dont know how to paint or whatever.

I prefer pillar pods over any other type of gauge pod because you can monitor everything you need without removing your eyes from the road.

If I were going with a 3-gauge pillar pod, I'd have a Boost, EGT, and Wideband gauges in the holes.....a 2-gauge pillar pod would contain just the Boost and Wideband gauges.

My buddy had a good idea by putting the power source for his pillar pod gauge lights on a seperate toggle in the event a cop cruises next to you and sees those three gauges staring you in the face. With a flip of the switch the lights go out, and your car looks stock on the interior at night. No one needs an excuse to get pulled over!

I like monitoring fuel pressure with boost and a/f ratio. I've run a stock fuel pump and a walbro 190 and it's nice to know when your pump is 'over the limit'. A fuel line in the cab isn't a good thing though. So I suggest caution when running this. Still, I've had more than one aeromotive FPR show it's a$$ because I could see the pressure fluctuate and/or drop. And fuel pressure seams to be one thing that is hard to log.

An exhaust manifold pressure gauge would be good to have too, if you're really serious and know how to use it. . . . But again this would be easier to log with a MAP sensor and a 'cool down' tube. I don't know many map sensors that can read fuel pressure high enough for many of us, or how they would react to gasoline over the miles.
