im trying to do a 6bolt swap into my 97 gst. i have a gvr4 motor that came with oil cooler w/ piping and fmic w/ piping. will the pipings for these extras fit into my 2g, or will they have to be changed out? and also, is there any way to tell EXACTLY what year motor i have? thanks.

i don't know how to tell what year the motor is, but i would almost bet my car those pipes won't work, beings which you can't used 1g pipes on a 2g and they are the same car. a gvr4 is a completally differant car, other than the motor.

so do you mean that the fmic pipes wont fit, the oil cooler pipes wont fit, or both wont fit? the oil cooler lines are just rubber anyway right, so even if they dont, that wont be too bad. as far as the fmic pipes, if they dont fit, would it be cheaper or a better option to just get one of the many kits that are around? i also thought of another?... how can i tell if my motor was run with regular oil or with synthetic oil? if it was synthetic then i want to keep running that in it. thanks.

get your VIN and give it to a Dealership...

Also if you want to know about the oil... who cares, you need to start putting in syenthic either way, just make sure you clean it out and put the good stuff in :thumb:
