Hey fellas! I ran into a little problem. After installing a 3'' RnR o2 housing with a Turbosmart 35mm external wastegate(15psi spring) and a 3'' downpipe my boost increased to 20+psi.So i messed with my mbc and still no luck so i noticed that the internal wastegate actuator arm was stuck open and thats what is causing my ride to boost so high.I installed everything correctly first i put a T in between the hose that runs from the blow off valve to the intake manifold and ran it to one end of the mbc and then ran the other end of the mbc to the lower nipple on the external wastegate.Secondly i plugged both nipples on the MBS i also plugged the nipple on the turbo and on the intake, did i have to plug the nipple on the internal wategate too or just leave it open?Anyways i need some help to fix it before i blow my t-25 to pieces,Yes i have a t-25 reason is because thats what i purchased the car with but plan to upgrade to a 20g in the near future, but for now will have to run my t-25,im only suppose to run 15psi by the way.Now i need your help first off can i do the job or do i have to take it to a shop?If simple i can do it i will just need some instructions on how to do it.How do i get my wastegate actuator arm to open and close correctly?Do i need to buy a new internal wastegate like the FP 17psi?Whats this 34mm flapper mod i heard somewhere? Can i do this or what do u guys reccomend?I really need some help fellas any advise would be greatly appriciated.I really need to run my car to its full potential fellas not hit 15psi and then let off gas and fear that im going to blow up my turbo. Thanks for taking the time to read this hope you guys can help. You guys have not let me down yet. Thanks and Later!

Why are you running an Internal AND External W/G?

When you run an external off the O2 you need to remove the Internal W/G Actuator / Valve, weld up the hole where the valve assembly connected to the actuator.. and hog out the W/G hole.

Exactly. Would that be considered a double negative?

When you say remove the internal wastegate actuator/valve you mean remove the whole internal wastegate setup,From the actuator bolted to the turbo and the arm that goes to the turbine and weld up the hole in the turbine or just remove the wastegate actuator arm leave the internal wastegate bolted to the turbo and just weld up the hole in the turbine that the actuator arm hook up to?What do you mean by hog up the W/G hole?Do you mean plug up?Thanks fellas i really appriciate the help.I really need to get my car going asap.Allright fellas thanks and later!

If you need a quick fix, you could probly just wire the wg flapper open so the ext. WG does its job. Other than that, since you have the external on your o2 housing, your gonna need to remove the actuator, remove the flapper, and somehow, either cut off or remove the arm.

And NO, if your external is mounted on the o2 housing, your not going to have to weld anything shut.

ultimately everything related to the stock W/G should be removed. That hole can be welded or other wise sealed (bolt, JB weld).

now that your internal W/G is removed.. the W/G hole itself can be enlarged allowing better flow. You want to remove as much restriction to the external W/G so it can perform optimally.

Allright so leave the internal wastegate and just remove the arm from the wastegate and the turbine and put a bolt in the hole where the arm was before right? As far as the internal wastegate goes how do i enlarge the hole?So onces i do all this everything should go back to normal right?I mean as far as the boost goes,it wont climb up to 20+psi?So i can adjust my boost in my mbc to 15psi and it should stay steady there right?Allright fellas let me know whats up and if you guys have any more advise for me.Later and thanks!

W/G arm and flapper need to go. Port (enlarge) the W/G hole with a die grinder.

If you feel uncomfortable doing this may want to ship just your turbine housing to RRE since they are also in SoCal and ahve them do the work.

Okay! I know what you mean, but i think i will take my car down to RRE and have them do that as well as install a 20g and some 660cc injectors.I dont feel comftrable doing the turbine myself so i will have RRE and while im there the can probably help me tune it.I really appriciate all the help guys but i thought it might be able to do it myself but i wont risk it and have a proffesional do it.If you look at my mods if you would take a wild guess what kind of horpower or 1/4 mile will i see as soon as RRE installs the 20g and the injectors and the remove the wastegate arm and plapper and port the wastegate hole and tune it really good?Allright fellas i really appriciate the help and im looking forward to keep upgrading my DSM.Thanks and later!

Very good idea :thumb:

I would also suggest doing some research yourself on turbo-DSMs here, VFaq.com, DSMTalk.. and pick up a shop manual, Haynes. The more knowledge you have the happier you'll be with your DSM :dsm:
