Pics of my custom stereo, that i just got finished

My friend does a lot of stereos in our area and we thru this together in 2 days. I didnt want anything fancy I like the plain simple clean look. We just made a fiberglass enclosure for the sub, than we used a board to cover it up and finish it off. theres obviously a lot more to it than that but im not going to get into detail. Let me know what you think.

nice install. only question i have is, why did u mount the amp there? it looks like its just chillin' in there? idk, it just looks funny to me?

Well those are kind of crappy angles, the amp is set up to just be hangin out. I am sick of seeing the flat mounted amps. Plus it makes it look like its on display. and shows the eclipse badge right on front of it. Im going to try and get another pic that shows it better. But thanks for the compliments.

it would help if ya could complement the amp with somthing on the other side ... sort of mirror it . a nice touch also would be to mount it to a piece of plexi-glass and put a neon under it --- it would make the edges of the plexiglow -
but ya nice job on the sub.

Is that hard to do anyways? To install your stereo like that? My Alpine 12" TypeR is in a box right now and that thing is always bouncing around in my trunk.

Just take out the spare tire and ummm.. I'm lost. Anyone got a DIY guide or anything for this type of sub install?

Looks sick. How much total did the enclosure costs (materials, etc.)?

I did real close to the same enclosure with my ED12. Total costs (for me) were about $55 for the fiberglass and the 3/4" MDF for the top. I pulled the Spare tire and cut out the mount for the tire. I then put down 3 layers of FATMAT (sound dampening) and molded the enclosure.

its a pretty easy install we use to do this at the shop turn the spare tire hole into a sub box. looks clean but that amp is just weird, looks good though. sounds nice?

Yeah after the fiberglass and mdf board, and carpet it ended up being like 60 for materials. I had to hack out the spare tire holder as well as take out the bottle for the rear squirter. basically you lay down tin foil,than do your fiberglass enclosure. After that i use a small piece of mdf board and secure it with fiber glass to the enclosure. once thats done i cut the hole for the sub, and run speaker wires to the inside of the enclosure, that is your box, nice and light as well. Than you have to make the top board which just finishes it off and thats the piece you carpet. Luckly you can just fit it into the eclipse, so you dont have to have a two piece top board. I put carpet down in the wheel well, and than put the enclosure in and secure it down. Next after carpet i put the top board in. depending on how you want it I had to put the sub in first because the top board fits snug on it. Than screw the top board down. theres a lot you can do with the amp I made a stand and carpeted it.

It sounds great, as for the amp I have a mitsu symbol cut out of wood and carpeted to put in the other side to go with the amp. But my car isnt a show car and I drive hard so I like it the way it is. Yes neons look good and you can do a lot with plexi but like I said plain and simple.
