How do I make the horn louder?

I don't know what it is with Mitsu horns but they are wimpy. The only solution I've run across is to replace them. The horn in my Diamante sounds like somebodys kitten being abused. Here's what one of the 3s guys did for his stealth. http://www.stealth316.com/2-fiammhorn.htm

So all I need to do is replace the horn? No change to wiring/power source?

I looks like a 2G only has one horn. If you can find a place to mount a high tone/low tone set it should be much better. Since 2G's use a relay to switch the stock horn you shouldn't have to do anything but find a way to mount them and wire them in.

my 2G had 2 horns, one on each side.

Not owning a 2G I can only go by what's in the CD manual I have. I was susprised that it only showed one, usually there are two. A high tone horn and a low tone horn.

step up the voltage. The more volts the louder it will be. I wouldnt go real high, but around 15 would prob work. You would need a transformer to step up the voltage and may want to put a diode in there so it doesnt have a chance to back feed.

Fix it.

The turbos have 1 horn, and if you honk it in the country, you'll be surrounded with ewes wanting to know what you're doing to the kid.... unless you're more than six feet away.

Just get a set of horns from PepAutoKragenMart, they have nice replacements for $15 a pair or so. Making a bracket shouldn't be a challenge for any DSM owner worth his balance shafts. Stoebel and FIAMM are excellent brands; if you get the little ones that look like snails playing a trumpet, they're terrific (I have a set of those on my Suzuki motorcycle, and actually blew a Pinto across two lanes with them- BMW used to use them on their scooters, and FIAT used them). Or, a set of FIAMM air horns can be had for about $30, another excellent choice.

I was thinking that while my horn doesn't work...that i should replace it...I thought it would be cool if i used something off a porsche or ferrari....any ideas how how to buy an oem horn for an exotic?

I've read over multiple places about eclipses and there horns going bad.. Mine went bad about six months ago and I still haven't replaced it yet. I've been wanting to go to a junkyard and just take one off another car, but I am too lazy and will probably end up ordering one from a dealer..

I got it from jcwhitney a 130db horn high tone. I don't know what the low tone sounds like. This one sounds pretty good, better than stock, like what they put on high end cars.
