Just got the translab shift kit for my DSM 95 TSi AWD what a difference such smooth positive shifts not to harsh but enough to let you know its in gear! Fixed flair ups when on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and improves downshift 10 times over! Its a truely perfect kit with perfect function. I would like to thank all who pointed me toward it!
 
The kit cost me 100 dollars for the shift kit and 250 to intall it. I had a good friend who is a tranny builder and if very very maticulous build it.
 
Are you following the directions EXACTLY and not changing hole sizes etc to your own likings?

Mine works Flawless First try.

I didn't do mine, the two times I did it, I had professionals do it for me.. The first time, I the car wouldn't shift into gear at all. The second time, I just lost OD... Hopefully, 3rd time lucky... But yes, to answer your question, the guide was followed to a T both times...
 
Did you get into contact with Dean? He is a really stand up guy and can probably talk you through a diagnostic run on the cell phone and figure things out really quick. I had problems BEFORE I installed the kit he helped me fix over the phone before ever spending a dime with him. He's a real nice guy and is very helpful.

Have you tried hooking a volt meter up to your shift solonoids to see if they are getting signals fromt he ECU?

They were brand new solenoids the second time I tried the kit. Obviously they work because my stock VB works perfectly. The first time I tried the kit, it was a used 98GSX valve body. The second time, I used a 97GSX valve body. The only thing that was the same between both was the shift kit. I might get a new kit and install it in the 97GSX valve body that I still have. Either way, I am going to get it to work...
 
Thats a very strange problem I would definately Contact Dean Mason the creator of the kit.

From what I've heard, the best thing to do is take the VB apart and then assemble it again. Most people who've had problems take that route until it works... Probably the most complicated component of a car is the AT transmission.. Especially and AWD-AT...

Like I said before, the second time around, 1st - 3rd works perfectly! I mean I slammed the gas and it downshifted like a champ and took off. I just couldn't live without OD for the highway. I do too much highway driving...
