i ordered a pacesetter cat-back exhaust a few nights ago and a high flow cat from pacesetter. I was wondering if someone could give me some helpful tips/instuctions on uninstalling my old/stock exhaust and installing my new cat-back. Also does anyone know on a 1G if the cat is welded on? please help me thanks alot guys.

its pretty easy to install and exhaust. put the car on jacks...LOL, or drive on side up on the curb (thats what i did) get under there and just take off the bolts on the old exhaust, make sure you get the hangers too. Once you get the old exhaust off put the new one on the hangers (you might have to make your hanger holes a lil bigger, i just slammed a thick screw driver threw them and it opened them up a lil). then just tighten the bolts down and make sure you get the gaskets in their nicely because exhaust leaks are very annoying. And no, the hi flo cat is not welded on

Lots and lots of Rust penetrant or PB Blaster. Old car= lots of parts that don't want to come off. Spray every nut and bolt down really good and let it sit for 30 mins or so before trying to break them loose.

Depending on your climate it may be harder than just using lubircants on some of your bolts. I live in South Florida, and my car was only 6 years old and my tech guys had to heat my bolts up to remove them. I'd tell you to inspect your old system before you start taking it apart. It'd suck to get off most of the bolts and not be able to get a few frozen (rusted) ones out. And make sure you got a buddy or two to help you out dude. :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:
