Alright, Ive read all the forums for engine swaps and they never actually tell you if its worth it or not. But here me out first.
I bought a 96 Eagle Talon ESi for 1200 (good deal- had some front damage but fixed it, except for radiator support) now I realize that I should have bought a TSI but cannot locate one close enough to me for around 8 grand. Anyway, some friends and me are thinking of doing the engine swap. 420a to a 1st Gen 4g63 (Herd the 1g motor is quicker then 2nd) Now people tell me it would be expensive for the engine and the parts but my buddy donated me a 93 Laser Turbo (Complete Car) So most the parts I can steal from that. Linkage / ECU (If Needed) / Harness / What Ever else. I looked at http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/1g2g.asp On how they did it. I also have a custom fabricator for exhaust and that shit. My dad says that he can mount the engine in (motor mounts / Clearance / ect...)
I dont know if im leaving anything else, but i figure if i just drop the 1g 4g63 engine in there and swap computer, and harness i should be in good shape. I know I could pull it off if this is just about all I need in doing it. But I want to make 100% sure this is all I need. Plus my 420a has 107k on it.
