Ok, so last weekend my car kinda ate it, and basically the result was one of the cams seizing in place. Now i have a GVR4 motor in the car....

My question is, if can only get my hands on a USDM head, can i put my GVR4 cams in it, or will it not work? Any help would be greatly appreciated, i have to drive my car to PA in 3 weeks...

That should work just fine. They are both 4g63s so it shouldn't matter. I have no idea what the differnce in lobes are though.

EDIT - Sorry I re read the post. Yeah the GVR4 cams should work just fine in the US head. Like I said they are both 4g63s.

is there anyway to rebuild my head now, or is the seized cam just like an automatic ticket to a new one?

Sure you could rebuild the head you have now. I guess I don't really understand what happened though. Did the cam actually seize in the head? That is strange. I am guessing you need new bearings around the cam then. Are the valves bent? Can you post pictures?

I would definatly take it to a good machine shop and get a new valve job. 3 angle grind should be perfered by most. Also check the smoothness of the head. Most shops only charge maybe $20 to deck it so you might want to consider that.

Yeah but you should be able to rebuild it depending on the damage. It might not totally be worth it though. You might be able to find one locally for cheap. I am sure you already looked into that though.
