Playstation 2 & TV Install

Tired of the boring interior that our 2nd Gen cars offer? Ready to spruce it up with some ICE? Well this is the write up for you.
This will be a step by step guide to installing your PS2 (or gaming console of your choice) & a TV.

Supplies:
Aftermarket CD player w/AV inputs & outputs (THE INPUTS PLAY A BIG PART IN YOUR SOUND)
Gaming console
TV (if not a flip out screen!)
180w Power Inverter (the ones built specufically for autos)
Male to Male connectors (depending on model of tv)

Step 1: Figure out WHERE you want to mount your TV.
After a few different placement options, I decided it would be in the car's & my best interest if I installed my tv in the glovebox. Basically a "Now you see me, now you don't." kinda thing.

Step 2: Figure out where to mount the gaming console.
I'm still undecided on that. My PS2, currently sits on the floor below the glovebox.

(Now that you have decided where, we can venture into the hard part.)

Step 3: Prep work.
Since I decided to install my tv in the glovebox (gb), I had to take the gb apart. Easy to do, there are 2 clips that sit on the inside, must be turned in order for them to pop out. Once those are out, the gb swings down and you can pull it out.
Now you need to pop off the INSIDE passenger side kick panel (the piece that sits to the right of the center panel section. It's held in there by a screw.

Step 4: Taking apart the center console.
Another easy thing to do. First, unsnap the A/C radio cover (the plastic trim piece). Unscrew the screws that fasten the plastic armrest section to the dash.
Next pop open the accessory panel and unscrew the single screw. Turn the shit knob counter clockwise until it comes off. Unscrew the 2 screws on the backside of the console (you'll have to scoot the seats up. SLOWLY pull it up and unplug the accessory light plugs and the bulb, being sure to pull leather shift boot up and over the shifter. You have succesfully taken apart the armrest section.

(For arguments sake, we'll say you already have an aftermarket headunit installed)
Step 5: Hooking up the tv
Since you already know how to install an aftermarket headunit (hu), you should know how to take out/put in the hu. If you don't it's another easy task. Unscrew the screws and take out the hu. If you have a stock unit still installed, you'll need to toss that/sell it/whatev. Make sure to purchase a harness for easy installation though.
Once you have the hu situation taken care of, you will have to connect a few wires here & there for your tv to work. I ran my tv power wire (RED) to my harness, by splicing it direct to that RED wire. That ignition wire (YELLOW) wire is ensures that when my car shuts off, the tv does too. I spliced that to my harness also. The ground wire (BLACK) can be screwed into any good grounding spot. I opted for a spot directly on the car metal beside the shifter. That's it. Test to make sure it works! My tv's power button lights up red, so I knew it was on/off.

Step 6: Hooking up the PS2
This is where the inverter comes into play. Open the package and check the FUSES! There are usually 2, one in the cig lighter plug (a long cylinder type) & the flat pronged type on the outside by the on/off switch. I didn't have to hardwire my inverter to my car like most people do, because I had previously relocated my cig lighter socket behind the dash and installed my air fuel ratio gauge in that spot instead. So all I had to do was plug & play. With the inverter plugged in, turn the car on. The inverter's standby bulb (if equipped w/one) should light up RED. Turn the unit on and it should be light up GREEN. Ok, it works.
Grab your console and it's wires/plugs/controllers/remote/whatev. Depending on your tv, it should have a hook up on the back that comes in 2 pieces. the first piece is pre-attached to the tv, the second part you have to plug in. The second plug should have some sort of small box w/inputs. They are usually marked, but you plug your consoles VIDEO cable into that (some tv's require the male to male connectors here). Mine plugged right in. There are spots for your audio there, I tried that first & it sounded like shit. It was going only to the tv speaker, not to the car.
This is where the input/outputs come into play. Most aftermarket cd player HUs have only one set of output plugs. I guess mainly for a subwoofer etc. It's a good thing when you can find a hu w/INPUTS that you can plug your sysyem to. (The indash tv's already have this option). So, instead of running your audio directly to the tv, run it to the rear and plug it into the AVs back there. Plug in all your PS2s extensions into the back off the unit, stick the wall plug (penis) into the inverter's input (vagina) & test it out. If it works, then your work is done. Work backwards and re-install everything.
If you selected the glovebox and your mounting spot, your tv should have a stand and some screws, drill mount & screw.
Clean up and your good to go. Now you can play all the games you'd like & watch all the porn you want without bugging your wife/girl or getting caught by your Mom (my weak attempt at a joke).

Hope this helped someone!
