just like the title says. Once i put it in gear i can pull the shifter from left to right. It has about 2 inches of play. Not sure what needs to be tightened or looked over. Maybe i need some new bolts somewhere? Please help

Off the wall question but when you reconnected the linkage to the shift forks on the tranny, did you put washers on either side of the little rod end to tighten it up? My shifter had a lot of play prior to doing that as well.

are you talking about the ones that have the ruber on them? I lost a couple of them. Maybe thats what i need to replace? could it be anything else?

I have the same problem, shift knob have too much play. I don't know how it's called. Little 2 plastic rings. Thanks

In this picture this is what i need. Little white plastic washer(i'm not shure that is what its called). Mine is destroyed so i have to much knob play.

my car has TONS of play while its in gear.. like the same amount of play as when its in neutral.

not sure whats supposed to keep it tight once you shift into a gear but mine is obviously missing something
