Ok, I have a question about my oil filter. Do you think I can get it off?? If not and I cut it, then is there a smaller one made that would fit our cars??

Also, I am leaking some type of brown thick grease and it seems to be coming from the drivers side axle boot, just because its thrown everywhere and it lines up perfectly with the boot?? What should I do??

Finally, I think I am leaking tranny fluid through the axle seal. I am using BG Synchro Shift and someone told me that it was to thin and would leak. Is this true..help??

Measure the length of the filter and go to your local auto parts store. Compare your measurement to the various filters in the store there. I know that the Amsoil filter (but you won't find that one in an auto parts place) is shorter, but maybe some others are as well. You may also try a 1G filter-- it's bigger around (and will fit onto the oil filter housing) but may be shorter, I don't remember for sure.

Also check the cv boot for crack, there're some split boot that can be replace without removing the axel, but I have never try them.

Ya, I saw them, but the sucky thing is that the clamp isn't split, so it needs to be removed anyways....

Ok, which type of axle seal should I use....I have a choice between Mitsubishi, National (O'reilly), and Napa brand. Anyone know if i should just stick with oem or is an axle oil seal an axle oil seal.
