Purchased my 94' Talon ES a month ago and i have alot i mean alot of money to spend on it and i have talk to many mechanics and most of there opinions have been that i can get my car running in the low 13's and high 12's without a turbo or nos. And i know alot of you are going to go say get a turbo but i dont want to i want the respect of havin a tiny but really strong engine and kill alot of turbo and muscle cars. So i was wondering what everything that abot every single thing i can do to my engine/car to get it running as fast as possible without ne nos or turbo and how much horsepower you think everything will add up too nd how much you think each things adds to the car. THANKs

Without turbo or nitrous? Ummm... custom supercharger. That'll help you the most. Other then that, 12:1 compression ration pistons will be the best.

What respect from beating turbos and v8s? There is no such thing as respect unless you do all the work yourself. I know you won't and can't because there is certain engine work you will need done that you won't be able to do. Certain $30k machines to do block work, precise measuring tools.

I don't want to start a flame or a hate against what you are doing but I don't think you will follow through with finishing a $10k engine that will barely beat a slightly modded turbo car.

Come on people help me out with this....and i will follow through with the project and i dont know what your talking about a slittly moded turbo wont be running 12's, with all bolt on it might be running high low 13's and maybe a couple lucky runs in the high 12's so i dont know what your talking about turbos without nething run in the 14's and slittly modified isnt going to bring its times down by 2 secods so you might want to rethink

whats your definition of slightly modded? and yes, turbo cars can run 12's with slight mods. 1g AWD guys can sepnd aorund 1000-1500 and run high 12's. i believe like stage 1 mods (according to buschurs site) puts you around 300hp which is good for low 13's, high 12's in AWD.

but, if you stay NA figure out how much you can bore it out, and get high comp pistons and all the prting polishing you can possibly do.

If you have alot of money to spend, why dont you start on a platform thats proven to get into low 13s to high 12s like a 1G AWD? You would be fast and you wouldnt need all the money that your talking about spending. Sell the ES and get a 92 6bolt/4bolt combo and build that. My .02

ya get a stroker kit.....or swap in a 2.4 then build the hell outta that...higher comp, crazy cams, lotsa headwork, lighten the valvetrain, just typical n/a upgrades....maybe a muscle car site would help more....

i dont rember his name but i know there is a guy who runs 14's with no turbo or nitrous. but last i knew he bought a turbo kit becuase he had everything ported and all forged internals with 3" hards pipes, and yeah. Good luck. u might wanna look into getting the 4g64?( i think) the 2.4 liter engine.
