Have to tow a AWD

I have to tow a AWD Talon a few hundred miles from its previous owner to its new home with me. Is it ok to tow it with all 4 wheels on the ground or will this mess anything up ?

Yes you can tow it with all 4 wheels on the ground or by using a flat bad. Hope this helps. When towing by rope or cable make sure the shift lever is in neutral and the ignition key set to "ACC" Hope this helps.

Just making sure. Someone told me I would need to disconnect a drive shaft on a AWD. Maybe they thought I was going to have 2wheels on a dolly and two being on the road.

If it's partially trailered, they are right. If all four are on deck, just make sure the tranny is in neutral and the wheel is unlocked. I blew my tranny racing and had to tow mine about 50 miles on a rope. If you do the same, you will hear gear meshing noise, just deal, it's nothing special. I was worried I was grinding up my x-fer case and the rest of the tranny the whole time, but I was wrong (turns out I just bent a shift fork, no big deal). Anyway, good luck, and have fun with the new car.

If this car you are towing is a 5-speed than you are all right. If it is automatic, no you can't tow it with the wheels on the ground. Even if you put it in neutral it will ruin the transmission. I believe the maximum you can tow an automatic in neutral is said to be 1.8 kilometers before there is possible damage. Do not tow the car with any wheels on the ground if its an automatic. Unless of course you disconect the driveshaft and lift the front.
