so right now i just lost my license - 6 months for street racing and i am looking for a project to keep me occupied and was wondering if i could find a wrecked/junkyard GST with the engine/turbo still good.. what would i need/have to get off the GST to make the turbo fit my RS? al parts and probems would be nce along with ANY other info. thanks. :dsm:

you will need about $5000. You will probley be the first one to do this because no one has done it before because it cant be done!! DO not try to do this you will spend too much money to put a stock motor in your car. Get a turbo kit and re build your motor you'll be able to be as fast as you want to be.

well im not talking about taking that entire thing and modding it to fit my car.. i mean more or less taking the turbo intercooler wastegate BOV and anything else i COULD use and the buying say a downpipe exhust manifold etc that fits my car.. you know what im saying?

If I were you, I'd stick with buying a Hahn or Star turbo kit. You could potentially get the turbo, BOV, etc. from a GST/GSX. It will be difficult to fit them to you car compared to buying a turbo kit. Stick with the kit. ;)

aaaaaamen.

It probably wouldnt work since the intake and exhaust housings are on the wrong sides. To make it bolt-up you'd need a custom manifold, then you'd have to run custom intercooling because I dont know if the intercooler would fit on the passenger side of the car like it does on the GS-T.

Then you'd probably need some minor fuel upgrades. You'd definitely need something to tune the a/f ratio like a s-afc.

Might be fun as a project, but the simplicity would be towards a prebuilt kit.

i just figure id would save money but already having the turbo, intercooler and other shit, ad just have to buy the downpipe, manifold etc and re do the piping. i just thought it be cheaper since id havethe main parts already...

The downpipe won't be even close to working. The manifold won't work. The turbo (has an internal wastegate), and BOV you could use. Intercooler you could use also. That's a whole $200 in parts. Don't waste your breath.
