I've been looking around eBay for a rear upper strut bar to compliment my new front one (whee!), and I've noticed a few companies list them in several different categories:
  • Talon/Eclipse, all models
  • Eclipse, all models
  • Eclipse, non-turbo
  • Talon, all models
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all 2g rear (not front, obviously) strut arrangements (with the exception of Spyders) were identical. So, is there really any difference between a turbo and non-turbo rear upper strut bar? Between the Eclipse and talon?

Or maybe I'm just stupid? ;-)

you are right, no rear uppers on the spyder otherwise you cant drop the top! but you can get a rear lower though =)

wish i could find either the front or rear lowers on e-bay.....anyone know a place that sells them for really really cheap?

Road///Race . I don't know what you would consider cheap, you can go to your local machine shop supplier & get a piece of steel tube and build one yourself. I'm working on a latch for the upper rear brace so I can easily remove it if I need to carry some bigger items.

i think RRE is overpriced as far as strut bars. i got my front upper off ebay for $26 shipped..........

*nod* I started this thread, but I'll throw in here that I picked up a "95-99 Non-turbo rear upper strut bar" for $27.99 shipped from eBay, and a "95-99 Eclipse/Talon Turbo Front Upper Strut Bar" for $27.94 shipped on eBay. Total cost: $55.93 for both front and back.

A word of note about the rear upper strut bar that I picked up: the rear deck smacks into the top of it (the metal support ridges that run front-to-back on it rest on the bar). Shaving the support ridges in a couple of spots will fix the problem, but I think I prefer it without the deck anyway.
