That DSM in there looks familiar. But other than that not one of them was probably a sub 15 second car LOL.

I hope they do loose their cars and the liscences. Its this reason why I can't drive my car down the freeway at 60mph without getting harrassed because I am a street racer. If this doesn't teach those #### heads a leasson then only death will.

EXACTLY!!!! If something goes down in another state it seems like our laws get cracked down even more. C'mon guys stop doing stupid shit! I want to mod my dsm and not get the shaft for having an "illegal air filter"

Great. Just a week before I come back home from cruise, and people in VA are getting stupid yet again. That was pretty damn stupid. I hope they got as many as they could.

I seriously doubt any of the cars there could hit 150. The ones that can, probably weren't even there.

"Police have been monitoring the racing for several weeks, clocking drivers traveling in excess of 150 miles per hour, so fast, they couldn't even catch them."

Could any of those cars even reach that speed? All I saw was a bs pink civic and an old ass integra.

Im glad. Maybe they will learn now. Thats just stupid and they deserve the penalties. I've never agreed to street racing entirely. Sometimes I leave work after a late shift, can't catch the track before it closes, and want to have some fun before the night is over. The least you could do is find a back road that you are very fimiliar with, and get a buddy to do some runs with you. This way, no other cars are around, and any accidents dont injure bystandards, maybe a deer.... That would be the only time/situation I would say it's feasible to street race, and I wouldnt even call it that... O well. Sucks for you VA folks.

I like how the girl stuttered at the end. Makes it all the funnier.

Well that sucks for those passengers...aiding and embedding!? Did you see the girl in the vid in the passenger seat crying, probably because her boyfriend just got her in deep S***. Lesson learned I guess.

Agreed.

Ahahaha.....look at the PINK civic on that page! That must be the fastest thing out there!

they all deserve to get anything coming to them, based solely on the existence of that pink civic.

hell, the newsteam deserves to get ticketed too for not knowing how to spell worth a damn.

thats like 3 miles from ODU where I go to school wow thats crazy...glad im on spring break haha wish i was there tho to see those slow cars getting caught hahaha but people down there are so stupid. people bother me in my eclipse all the time. glad they learned a lesson:nono:

I'm all for chilling in a mall parking lot, but when you start racing on the street next to it your just asking for trouble from the police :notgood:

Man, there ya go Scott... some more fodder for the Norfolk impound auctions! I didn't view the video.. was there a DSM among the cars caught?

Ok , now I want to know what is going on with the po pooz in san mateo county. I heard on the news that they are cracking down on street racing and side shows. However, my friend got busted just for driving around in his 00 eclipse. They stopped him for having a so called, to loud exhuast , then made him pop his hood. I thought they were just out to bust street racers and sideshowers, WHATS GOING ON!!??!?!?!?! :notgood:

Too fast, too furious? Too busted, police say
Law enforcers on alert for illegally modified vehicles, street racers
By Christine Morente, STAFF WRITER

Owners of souped-up cars, beware.
For the first time in the county, three teams of officers from San Mateo County law enforcement agencies will be out Friday night, searching for illegal street racers and inspecting cars.

"We just want to make sure people understand it's not OK to have cars illegally modified in San Mateo County," said Timothy Birch, a Daly City police management analyst. "We can impound cars or do whatever it takes to get the message across."

Inspections will be from 6 p.m. to midnight. Birch said he does not anticipate traffic issues during the operation hosted by the Burlingame Police Department.

A California Office of Traffic Safety grant will pay for the inspection operation.

This will be the first such inspection operation in the county.

Birch said a second inspection will occur June 16, because of the movie release of "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," the third installment in the popular street-racing series.

Birch said he doesn't believe the county is a hotbed for street racing and sideshows, where drivers perform stunts such as donuts. But officers will likely visit parking lots of fast-food places like In-N-Out Burger in Millbrae or Nations Burger in Daly City, he said. There, Birch added, some people meet and set up sideshows, or go following a race.

Friday afternoon, police will learn during a four-hour training session in Burlingame how to spot illegally modified cars. Birch said police officers will look out for cars that arebrightly colored or have lettering and graphics.

"Obviously, there's nothing illegal about that ... but sometimes, when a car is painted that way, it's tied with illegal modifications," he said. "If a car is too loud, or doesn't meet emissions requirements — because it's a violation — it allows an officer to pull a car over and gives police the right to go underneath the hood to see if anything has been modified."

Officers will also look for stolen parts. Birch said law enforcement agencies aren't in a position to deal with the vendors.

"We're not equipped to do it," he said. "In San Mateo County, there's very few shops that overtly sell stuff that's illegal. We can only deal with what we're seeing after it's installed."

I think its a good thing... I know for a fact that I am staying off the streets on friday when the movie comes out. There are going to be so many stupid ####s out before/after the movie tring to drift their moms toyato camarys. And If I were a cop, I too would specifcally look out for cars that fit the profile. I dont' car if its profiling, If other peoples lives are going to be put in danger, than the police should have that right. However, pulling people over who have a modified car and harassing them and ticketing them for just haveing a modified car is BS (in my opinion) As long as they are obeying the law, then let them go. As Im sure most modified muscle cars and Harleys will NOT be pulled over for having illegal emissions.

Ill be driving my minivan, that way if they hit me, THEY LOSE. Lets see their little honda civics and 240's take on my 2 tons of fury. v6 BABY, all 151 horses, and 174 ft lbs.

This is how street racers screw us all, and is why I'm glad I moved out of CA. We all fit the profile with our "import cars" and we can all expect to be harassed because of those who street race. Get used to it. As long as people street race, it's only going to get more difficult for the rest of us to enjoy modding our cars, especially for all those in CA - can anyone say CARB? You can thank the street racers for that lovely little law.

Maybe if you show the cop this shirt they'll know you're not part of the problem:
