Alright, i got my sbr fmic in and i was putting it on and bent the power sterring line and it broke and leaked everywhere.....my question, why is it even so long, why is it there in front of my radiator? I was thinking about just cutting it short and connecting the two pies together with some high pressure race hose. This sound ok? Cause these lines are pissing me off because my fmic wont fit with them there and i bent them and they broke. If anyone can help its appreciated, thanks guys!:rocks:

i mean i know ther long so they prevent shudder but what if i cut them and had hi pressure line that was just as long as the original metal lines?? would this be ok?? Also, what pressure are the lines under? right now the only i have holding the leak is some hi temp silicone sealant, if the prsssure isnt too much then i guess i could just keep it with the silicone on...lemme know :DSM: thanks

Why cut it when you can take it off and loop it off to where the other half is going without creating a new line. I've done it in both 1Gs and 2Gs. Just don't take the car to any auto-x events.

well that sucks....i kinda goto autox events every other month so that wont work....um, whats a better thing to do? how much are they from the factory?? i think i could just buy a new one and put it behind that beam infront of the radiator ( thats where i bent it today but it broke)

I just re-route mine through where the stock windsheild whiper bottle was, to behind the factory fog light with an aftermarket power steering cooler off ebay. cheap, easy, and out of the way. I also used some cheap pos power steering fluid, then went back and drained the whole thing and put in valvoline super duper fluid (5 dollars instead of 3, LOL) and it actually felt like it made a difference. With the cheap stuff I found myself trying sometimes on turns while shifting as the rpms dropped below idle speed due to my lightweigh flywheel, but now I can go as low as like 200-300 rpms and have it still be effortless. Once it dies its a bi***, but all the magic in the world would have a hard time getting aroud that one...

so your power steering goes out still?! i cant have this happen at all.

Well i had some extra hi pressure fuel line laying around so i cut it and stuck it over the steel line i broke, i think it should work. Ill keep updating.

For those who get a FMIC that forces you to move the PS cooler but still need the cooler because you autocross (for example), you can (a) move it to being in front of the FMIC (also making people think you have a CO2 sprayer - bling bling) or (b) move it to some other location that gets decent air-flow. But you need it or you will get PS fade when autocrossing.

Do you realize that the line in question is the cooler for the power steering? That's why it is a long as it is and where it is. If you want to run a different type of cooler you can.

Yes i realize this;) But its fine, i repaired the line and tucked it behind the fmic, looks good now. Thanks guys.
