anybody ever have aftermarket springs w/ the stock shocks.....The Prokits offer a 1.7" drop in front/rear. I just want to make sure that the stock shocks can handle any bumps w/out the tire hittin the wheel well. There's a sale on www.i-m-racing.com for a set of Prokits - $210 shipped

I really can't complain about the price, and the sale is only till August 3rd. Should I go for it? I need to get my car alignment done anyway...but money is kinda tite rite now, and I cna't fork out the extra 200+ for new shocks. Need some help deciding...so Ima ask my dsm brotherhood & couple sisters here on what to do...

Thanks dsmtuners...

The sportlines have the major drop that you are referring to. The pro-kit is the set that only drops about an inch.

Yeah, I have the Prokits and they are rated at a 1.3 inch drop. The Sportlines are the more agressive of the two. I don't think that you will have any trouble witht he tire rubbing on the wheel well with either set of springs you go with. I have a friend that has sportlines and he does not rub.

ya..get shocks...i run the prokits (1.3 inch drop) on my gsx with stock shocks...everything's great, if you're one to enjoy bumpy clunky rides.

i've seen prokits and sportlines on 1g's , and i've ridden in the prokit with stock shocks...it rides better than stock is all i can say..i wouldn't buy agx's or koni's for such a high "drop" (1 inch with the prokits on 1gs)

I have a pro-kit on my car and after about 5 months the stock shocks were going and the driver front one totally blew out.

Later,

make sure u get struts and NOT shocks when you do purchase them ;)

Pro-Kit rules. Not much of a drop, but 1 inch is enough for me.

Rides GREAT. I combined them with KYB GR2's, they rode comfy like stock, but handled on rails. I'd put them on any DSM

Intrax isn't very good, I know some cars with them. They are good for a 2 inch drop, but they are too soft to be a 'performance' coil
