I am curious if anyone using the MAFT has any dyno results and what mods were done to the car? Preferably results before the MAFT and after with the only change being the MAFT. I know a bunch of you guys have the MAFT now so someone has to have the info. COME ON GUYS!!

well that would not be bad 6hp at 400 is a lot and a 2g is alot bigger than a 1g. Anybody else??

We got our first "offical" dyno graph from Martin at AMS. He had a 1G car that he had in his words perfectly tuned on his dyno with a wide band air fuel meter and a fully hacked 1G MAF sensor. He installled the Translator and tuned the car using the translator to the SAME A/F ration and the SAME boost. I was a little concerned that we would not see much gain because of the level of tuning and airflow this car already had but the car picked up 9HP much of the way across the graph quite a bit more in a couple spots. Much bigger gains could be had on cars that were not tuned as well to start and with unmodifed sensors that still had most of the restriction. This works for me.
Thanks,
Mike Licht

I here ya. Trust me I want to sell these as bad as you want one this is how my kids eat. I shipped 50 1G units this week and maybe just as many 2G units which I have in stock as I type this. I will ship another 50 1Gunits next week which should get us cought up and have units in stock to sell
Thanks for you patience,
Mike Licht

its worth it, especially if you have no fuel tuning methods. thing cut .5 off my best 1/4 time, and this was without the logger. GET A LOGGER THOUGH!

I believe if i have not misread the information about the MAFT, that this unit has a switch to eliminate fuel cut? correct me if i am wrong (mike or tuner guys)

this is a worthless option due to the fact that al it does is clip the signal at a Hz that is below fuel cut level. at this point your ECU no longer knows how much fuel it is getting. this is only usable if you are using an SAFC or other means to add fuel based on MAP

So what would be more of a gain, If i ran a Non MAF 3 1/2" Intake or ran a filter off the inlet of the turbo?

well i can tell you im going to put a filter over my turbo (duct it to the front) and then put the GM MAF in a blow though setup infront of the throttle body... personaly i think this will work best as you get the best of all worlds.. CAI, quicker spool, you can then vent to get that o so cool Pshht.. and of corse reduce the intake restrictions for again quicker spool and with better pipes etc. And a new intake manifold i think you could expect a good HP incress more like maybe 10-16hp..

I was one of the 50 1g units they shipped out last week. My car is not operational, i'm just gathering parts.
My only complaint on the actual unit (haven't used it, just talking about how it looks/feels.....quality of materials, etc.) is that damn sticker on the top..." horsepower in a box" !!!!??? Not a big deal, but it looks kind of cheesy and my friends who have way more money than me who have VPC's think its funny.
Hey, mike...change that sticker on the top and it will be as near perfect as it can be at less than 1/5 the cost of a VPC!!!!:D
I'm really just being anal, who cares if it works right?:thumb:

"Horsepower in a Box" started as kind of a joke on the first unit we made about 7 years and thousands of units ago. It just stuck, after this long I think we will keep it. :)
Thanks,
Mike

Cany anybody enlighten me to any actual benefits from this mod? I have heard a little about it but i really dont understand its point. I realize you get 10 hp give or take but is its value in tuning? or being able to vent? I just dont want to pay 300$ for a few horses.

the MAF-T removes the more restictive 1g/2g MAF, witch when your at a certin level of performance is extremly benifitial...that is why not too many people are seeing a BIG difference right now...

Well, here is my take. I have had it on the car for a couple weeks now. I am running it on my 2G with 780s, L2R and SAFC. Custom short routed piping, and Tial BOV. I have been able to tune it pretty good, with no logger. I dont recommend this method, and I will be going to a friends tomarrow with a wideband. I have no results as of yet, but the car honestly feels stronger than it ever has. And this is UNTUNED! I did notice an increase in spoolup. Not 700rpm, but some. The biggest difference is the driveability. The car idles good, even with 780s, and cruises like stock. I was having part throttle surge issues, which are completely gone. So even if I dont pick up any HP, it was still completely worth it for the way the car behaves now. But I think it picked up quite a bit of hp. And I havnt even touched my SAFC yet. It is running good wiht base set at position 8, Idle at position 5, cruise and WOT at position F. I will be dynoing soon, and get back with results.

I got mine last week, and all my settings are set on "0" , even with them on "0" I can tella big difference on how the car behaves , as stated above. Soolup time is quicker , w/less throttle , which is great ! and I noticed that it pulls a lot harder now , which is really good. I dont have a logger yet, waiting on mine to get here. But over all, best bang for the buck ! Its awesome i luv it ! best thing i have done to the car yet.

What made you decide not to keep the translator at 0 and tune with just the SAFC. I am curious since I will be running a similar set up.
