It's Great ...easy to use and allows you to do timing adjustments as well as many other great things. 1st "Real" software for 2g's
No Brainer if you are serious about tuning your car.

i can only tell you I bought a super computer laptop becuz I use it for other things as well.. mine is a P4 1.5 with 512mb ram.. havent actually got to use my DSMlink yet but will shortly..

I just sold my last used laptop. My selection of new laptops is limited. The cheapest I can get you is $850 for a 733Mhz/10GB HDD/256MB RAM/FDD/LAN/56K/OS of choice/8X DVD.

You could also try pricewatch. Bet you could find a better deal there.

Thanks for the website ill check it out. If you get any other used ones let me know.
Also are there any websites about using this to tune. Any yahoo groups or anything? Just wondering b/c i haven't seen to much info on actually using this to tune.

I got a free laptop from my dad's work. I just asked him to go to the "computer guys" at his office and ask for an old pos thing that ran windows 98, got a color lapton with about 166mhz and color screen cd drive but no sound, oh well it was free.

The reason you haven't 'seen' any Yahoo groups about DSMLink is that it is a private Yahoo group, you must be invited by the DSMLink makers to be on it. How do you get invited? Buy DSMLink, that's the only way. Helps keeps piracy down b/c it's a HUGE incentive to buying legit when you have a big database of members and tuning logs to work with.

I ran the DSMLink on a P100 with 40 megs ram... did it suck? hardcore, but the car still ran well..... the main thing is that you'll need enough ram to support all that java. Now I run it on a P350 with 160 meg ram, and it's MUCH happier, although I can tell it would love a faster computer setup.

From what DSMLink says, a FWD or AWD Eprom ECU will work fine b/c they modify the chip. I think this may be true for MT and AT as well, their site has that info on it somewhere.

ok, Im buying a EPROM Stage 3 TMO computer from a local guy as soon as I come up with the $'s. will the DSMlink work with that computer? Do I still need an SAFC or is that all built into the DSMlink? $600 aint bad if it controls all the air/fuel, timing, etc. How hard is the install?

you cant use TMO and DSMlink together.. they both replace the eprom chip with their own chip..

DSMlink is a fuel controller as well as many other things so obviously the AFC isnt needed..

Install is cake on the DSMlink..replace the ECU and hookup your laptop

k, well I guess I could buy the stage 3 for now, then just sell the chip out of it on the trader when I get a dsmlink.
