Nova,
I'm looking for a rebuild KIT for a 1G FWD trans. I emailed shep about getting a quote for me just buying the parts that he would put in if I sent my trans there......but I'm doing the rebuild. Well, I got no response anyways. I would consider TRE but they want too much money for everything. Anybody know of a kit in existence?

Not really a kit BEC you can't tell what is wrong with your tranny untill you open it. Just buy everything, Hub and sleeves for all gears, all new synchros, snap rings, bearings, shift forks, trash magnet, the works, it is expensive and might as well do it as it is open.

Yep, what umiami80 says is correct. Open it up and look at the internals. Replace what is bad. When you replace any of the bearings the shaft play can change and then you have to measure the play and order the exact thickness spacers and clips. You cant guess the thickness before you put it together. The spacers are like $6 each so I dont think you want to buy every size ahead of time. Hope this helps you, Good Luck!

Yeah, these spacers are VERY IMPORTANT and must be perfect in size, you will need a micometer to measyre the distance between the bearing and the case. If it is wrong, say hellow to another blown tranny with shiney new parts.

Good luck, I started out with a $250 job, it is now over $1,000.

I need, new Input shaft and GVR4 gear (My choice) new 1/2-3/4 hub and sleeve (didn't know on the 1/2, a $120 dollar surprise) new reverse gear (anouther $urpri$e) all new snap rings, magnet, seals, and a phantom Grip LSD for shits and giggles, it adds up fast.

Good luck. with my Cluitch and flywheel I have spend $1500 all together, but this includes the labor and custome work soooooo..........
