af/x computer upgrade?

ok I’m looking for a computer upgrade for my 98 talon esi. I got a 96 motor out of a junk yard and I’m building it up. I got crower 241 cams with a rebuilt head, I’m building the block at the moment and I’m going put a turbo on it. I want an ecu that can handle all the things I’m going do good without problems. I hear that the afx ecu would be my best hope. does anyone know if i can even put a 97 ecu in my car being its a 98 with a 96 engine? Or is there another way for me to go? thanks

The engine itself has nothing to do with it... the main concern is whether or not the ECU connector pinout will be compatible. You'll have to cross check each wire and make sure they're in the same position between '97 and '98 connectors.
