I washed my call a little while back, and I ran it through the automatic car wash, where it did an undercarrage wash as well. But after that my car was running really shitty. It was hestitate when i gave it gas, and it was just kind of jumpy. Every time I tried to accelerate, it wouldn't want to go. But after it set for a couple hours, I went out there and it was running fine. Could anybody tell me what could have possible got wet to make it do that.

if you have a cold air intake or even a short ram it could have gotten soaked by the water.

With a cold air intake, the filter would have to be completley submerged and the throttle open for it to cause anything. I seriously doubt a car was could do this. If anything, I would think it would be something electrical (ie, some wiring/fuse/or sensor got wet.)

I don't have a cold air intake, my car is stock right now. I just wasn't for sure what could have gotten wet.

i was looking at a web site and saw a air bypass valve. If i got that, do you think that that would fix the problem, or would it be something else?

If you don't have an aftermarket intake you can't use and don't need an air bypass valve. It's just for keeping water out of aftermarket intakes. Also, stay away from auto car washes whenever possible, they are terrible for you paint.

check the wires on your o2 sensor..if they are at all expaosed if they get wet your car will go nuts because the wetness causes a wrong signal to the engine...basically telling it that your running lean and it then dumps way more fuel in...causing the problems...
