I have a 93 laser with the 2.0L nt engine and i want more power. I read in some other posts that upping the compression is a good way to get more. What is the best way to do this? Where can i find a guide to making the compression higher? Has anyone increased the compression on this engine before? What parts will I need?

if you want to increase compression the best way is turbo charge it, you can get up to 5 psi on stack internals, but if you want more you have to replace pistons and rods to lower your compression some first, then your ready for 20 + psi after a few more mods

check out www.hahnracecraft.com for some turbo kits for that motor

yes it helps , i have 10.5;1 wiseco pistons in mine and you can fell the extra money tha was spent check tha rest of my mods to mabe help you out any questions anyone just holla.

you do not have to replace pistons and rods only, you can mill the heads.
A standard performance shop can mill the heads to get you up to 10:1 compression to maybe a little higher. 10.4-10.5:1 is about as high as the 1g nt could handle on pump gas if i remember correctly. I did some calculations a year ago on what kinda of power a 1g nt could produce, but i forgot many of them.

i think i'll just get some high compression pistons. I'm buying my friend's engine and am gonna do a rebuild on it. It would be easy to stick the pistons in then and all the other goodies too:) . But that will be a while because I am not made of money.:D
