i was thinking about buying a cold air intake for my 96 RS. Is there really a big difference between CAI and a short ram, also, if i get a short ram would i need to get a heat sheild for the intake cone?

Get TRUE cold Air please. Your sucking up cold air instead of hot engine air. Better gas milage, much better sound.

I highly suggest Injen Race Division, I am beyond pleased w/ it

I asked about the injen intakes..the guy told me it was gonna cost $250, i almost did a back-flip, do you think it is worth spending that much? or is there a better place to buy?

thats way too much... i got my race division for 180 through a local shop... but yes injen race division is the shiznit! go with that you won't be disappointed.

I made the mistake of getting short ram, dont do it. CAI is the way to go. The Race Division is good, also I hear nothing but good things about the AEM V2 as well.

ninja I have an Iceman also. cold air vers short ram is like night and day for me. short ram does nothing other than make aliitle sound.

Dont get a ram all they do is make a nice noise with no power I put on my aem CAI and could feel a difference once I got to about 3k.

What do you guys think of the no name brands. ive seen CAI on ebay For under or around 50 dollars. But its the same concept...mandrel bend and high flow cone and some are powder coated.
Is there a big diffrence?

MAn its your own personal preference and What you believe is better. If Your on a tight budget get the Ebay ones. OR go for quality and get a name brand. OR get a name brand off ebay like me I got mine for 115 and 20 doller shipping.

i could make u a CAI, for around 100CDN, depends on where it needs to be shipped, if u want pics, just e-mail me at [email protected] i got engine pics with it on. u just attatch the stock MAS to it. i've sold a couple, and they were extatic. its made of 3" mandrel bent tubing. let me know.

would the injen cold air intake need a bypass valve, or can u not use a bypass valve with it.

Do NOT get a short ram. I did, and ended up extending it to a true cold air intake w/ pvc pipe

don't use pvc!! the plastic realeases a fume when heated, heard that terrible things can happen:S but if u haven't had problems yet, then i guess no worries, but that's what i've heard happens, even my mechanic teacher agreed with me
