2gnt Cooling fan issues..PLEASE HELP

Alright, here goes..

I purchased a rad and fan combo (which I'm sure most of you have read from my other posts). I'm having a hell of a time hooking this stupid fan up and getting it to run. I'm going to list the things I've done in point form. If anyone can make some suggestions as to what I should try next, don't hesitate to respond.

This is what I have done so far:

1. Hooked the SPAL fan up to the passengers side harness. Fan did not come on when operating temps were reached.
2. Hooked the fan up to the drivers side harness. Fan still did not come on when operating temps were reached.
3. While fan was plugged into drivers side, I turned on my AC, the fan came on! I plugged it into the passengers side, and turned on my AC, the fan came on again!

At this point I thought that maybe the ECT was messed up and wasn't sending a signal to the ECU to turn the fan on. I can't test the ECT because I don't have my voltmeter.

4. I replaced the ECT with a spare one that came on my t-stat housing. Put the new ECT in, plugged the fan into the driver's side and waited for my car to reach operating temps. Still the fan did not come on!

To recap, I changed my ECT. Tried the fan on both harnesses (driver and pass). The fan comes on when the AC is turned on, but not when operating temps are reached (180-200 deg.)

The only other thing I can think of is perhaps a bad relay..but the fan worked when the AC was one so wouldn't that eliminate that??

I'm going to get a new voltmeter and check the ECT, or just buy a new one.

If anyone can help me, that would be great. I want my car back on the road, I've already missed out on half of the summer, I'm hoping to catch the tail end of it.

Thanks in advance guys, sorry for the long read.
