Timing Pulley

Hey guys i have a quick question. as far as the timing pulley goes. not the balancer pulley. the one that belt rides on itself on the crank. i replaced the crankshaft seal. now i pushed the pulley back on. does it go on till it cant go no more. or does it need some space? because it looks very close. thanks in advance!
