Hi all... first of all i wanna introduce myself.. im alex, and i have an RS base model...
Im new to this forum, but ive been around in the mitsu forum, so i know my stuff.

I came here seeking for help, since this sounds like a common 420a issue...
The car has been IRRATIONALY overheating -_-... The damned thing has a new aluminum radiator, and the behavior is that when idling, the temp would rise... but when moving, it would go back to its normal level....
Also revving the engine while overheating on idle. would make the temp lower along with the rpms for a bit...
The hose coming from the radiator looks a bit swollen and kinda hot... so my first though is "its the thermostat stuck closed.." i just replaced it for a 195F one (there wasnt another one) and let it idle and still overheats... same behaviour.....

HELP!!! please :(

PS. Yes i do have coolant... no not driven hard

Ill try to check on any kind of shaft play on it.... but my mechanic is out of town, and thus my working garage -_-..... GREAT mistake having a DSM as a DD hahaha

Remove the cap (when the engine is cold) from the hosing, fill it all the way. Now, turn on the car, add coolant/water as needed until gauge reads normal. Replace cap, turn off car, add coolant/ water in resorvir to max line. Take a spin around the block, it should suck up whatever else it needs to fill up. Turn off car, refill resorvir (DO NOT take the cap off of the thermostat housing!!!). I'm pretty sure we run 190* thermostats in our cars, so 5* more shouldn't hurt.

Yeah actually factory specs for eclipses is 190 on the manual, and i kinda already tried that... im planning on running it without a thermostat to see if thats actually the issue

BTW, I got a huge FMIC and a/c condensor with no heating problems, so you shouldn't be having these issues at all. If it's not the thermostat, you might have to buy a new water pump...

Had the same problem in my old civic. Just have to get the air out of the system like Shadow98 said.
