What is the maximum width of wheels/tires i can put on the front of my eclipse? 7,8,or9 inch? I was thinking of like 17x7s on the front and 18x9s on the back or is that a bad idea?

I was going to say that same thing you need the widest on the front. but 8inch is the widest you can go.

Big, heavy ass wheels will slow you down. You do know that don't you? Unless your an all show guy then it won't really matter. For every pound you take of a rotating mass it is equaled to about 6 to 8 pounds being removed else where on your car. It is basically the same principle as a lightened flywheel.
