GreenBelt,
Should the clutch master, and slave cylinder be replaced when installing a heavier clutch? They both have 120K on them

any way to tell? or should i just replace them to be safe

You have to take them off either way.... If the cylinder walls are scratched badly you are wasting your time rebuilding and should just replace. If they are not scratched there is no need to completely replace...unless you just have money running out of your pockets. The rebuilds are very simple. The master cylinder rod attachment is just a bear to get to...... Good luck.....

Most people end up having to rebuild or replace master or slave cylinder so just be ready for it :)

That is because most people do have it blow out.

I would if I were you.

Cool are the dealer made master and slave any better then the garden verity auto parts store brand?

Not that I'm aware of but check prices and go with dealer if there not that more expensive.

My master cylinder went out after 750 miles first time i got to take it to the track. It wouldn’t fully disengage the clutch. And no it wasn’t an adjustment issue.

i dont know s**t about trannies, but the master cyl and slave cyl just make it a "power clutch", dont they? if they do, than cant you just eliminate them and make it a "manual clutch", yes of course it would be quite a bit of pedal pressure, and uncomfortable to drive, but could you do it?

Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

DSM's are a hydraulic clutch setup. So, tell me. How exactly is it going to work without the essentials of the hydraulic system being removed??? If you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut as it fills the uneducated masses such as yourself with misinformation and only serves to confuse them further.

ya, i wasnt specific at all, yes i realize that sounded ridiculous, removing the slave and master cylander would be like building a motor without pistons. Anyways, what i was asking was, is it like a power brake system? ie: is there a vacuum canister (power booster) on the clutch cylander(s), and if there are can they(the vacuum canister be removed). Thats all that i was asking, sorry for the mix up.

I would just go out and look and see, but i have sold both my cars.

dont get all pissed off, people just ask questions beacuse they want to learn. :)
